Picnic Theatre Company’s The Unexpected Guest at Dumbarton House to Benefit Courage for Kids
On November 1,2 and 3, 2017, please join Courage for Kids and Picnic Theatre Company at Dumbarton House in Georgetown for cocktail party theater and an evening of campy suspense with Agatha Christie’s The Unexpected Guest! Set in a foggy estate in Wales in 1958, this classic mystery begins in a dark mansion at the scene of a heinous crime. Lost in the fog, a stranger seeks refuge in a nearby house, only to find himself in a murder scene! As each quirky member of the isolated household of suspects is questioned one by one, investigators reveal a tangled web of lies, family secrets and chilling motives. Will the killer strike again?
Enjoy cocktails, music and refreshments in the Bellevue ballroom at 6:30; the one-act performance seated in the ballroom at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds from the performance benefit preservation & education efforts of Dumbarton House, one of Georgetown’s finest examples of Federal period architecture, and Courage for Kids, providing back packs filled with school supplies to at-risk children in Washington D.C.
