On February 12, 2015, Danielle Karst, Stephanie Baucus, Andrea Rodgers, Wendy Pittman, Megan Christensen and Quin Woodward Pu hosted COLD WEATHER, WARM HEARTS, a festive happy hour to support early childhood education for at-risk children via the nonprofit, Courage for Kids. The event took place at Mission in Dupont Circle. The event had a big turnout despite the cold weather and raised funds to provide at-risk children in the greater DC area with a backpack filled with school supplies to start kindergarten. Courage for Kids partners with early childhood education facilities such as CentroNiaBright BeginningsHouse of Ruth’s Kidspace and Campagna Center.

In 2008, I launched AskMissA.com which grew from my personal blog into a site with 700 writers, covering the intersection of charity & lifestyle in 20 U.S. cities. With Charity + Life, I am going back to a personal blog where I can share my favorite things, and continue to shine a light on nonprofits, and cause marketing campaigns to inspire others to give as they live.
