LUSH Cosmetics Campaign To Make #FurHistory And End Animal Cruelty

Each year, approximately 100 million animals are killed for their furs by the global fur trade. Because of the high demand in countries such as Canada, the United States, Russia, China, and the majority of European countries, the fur industry has thrived.

For the short lives of beautiful creatures such as minks, foxes, and raccoon dogs, they are imprisoned in small cages, never knowing what freedom feels like. Their deaths are just as cruel, as they are either electrocuted or gassed just before their birthdays. Later, their skins are removed and used as embellishments for much of the fashion industry.
The fight to protect these precious animals began in the 1930s, when virtually no one really knew or cared about being fur-free. People passionate about a fur-free industry wrote a letter in British Columbia and Ontario, stating that they believed using steel-jawed leg-hold traps to catch animals was cruel and wanted to find a better solution. Their passion led to the birth of an organization focused on ending cruel traps: The Association for the Protection of Fur-Bearing Animals (APFA).
LUSH Cosmetics, who is motivated by the same passion of APFA, needs our help in exposing the awful truth of the fur industry and putting an end to such a cruel practice used for the purpose of vanity.

LUSH Cosmetics has launched an amazing marketing campaign to lure fur consumers across the world. Customers who go to furdiscounts.com are redirected to the campaign, where the fur industry’s acts of cruelty are exposed. LUSH Cosmetics has always prided itself in giving back through charities, and this campaign to end the fur industry is just another reason we love the brand. LUSH Cosmetics has committed itself to making #furhistory and raising awareness for the harsh and fatal realities that millions of animals meet each year for something so vain as fashion.
With no demand for fur, fur industries will have no way to make a profit, so remember the cost of the lives animals give to adorn your wardrobe. To learn more about the campaign and find out how you can do your part as a consumer to raise awareness on the cause, visit FurBearerDefenders.com, and if you’d like to donate directly to the cause click here. And don’t forget to take the pledge to make #furhistory and end the fur trade. Use hashtags #furhistory and #furindustry to enlighten your peers on social media about the cause.

In 2008, I launched AskMissA.com which grew from my personal blog into a site with 700 writers, covering the intersection of charity & lifestyle in 20 U.S. cities. With Charity + Life, I am going back to a personal blog where I can share my favorite things, and continue to shine a light on nonprofits, and cause marketing campaigns to inspire others to give as they live.
