American actor, writer, and carpenter, Nick Offerman, recently made an appearance on Conan‘s late night talk show selling his hand-crafted wooden emojis (click here to view commercial).
Although the commercial started out as a joke, talking about how solid oak emojis are a more old-fashioned, more personal, more American mode of communication, it has now turned into a real thing, and one that supports a great cause.
Conan teamed up with Tilt.com, to produce a limited run of Offerman’s high quality emojis, with all proceeds going to the Children’s Defense Fund.
The Children’s Defense Fund’s Leave No Child Behind mission ensures every child a Healthy Start, a Head Start, a Fair Start, a Safe Start and a Moral Start in life, and successful passage to adulthood with the help of caring families and communities.
Prices for the emojis vary; for $100 you can send extremely heavy Smiley Face, Heart Eyes, The Wink, The Cat or the always popular Pile of Poo; for $300 you can send a pine-based emoji sentence.
