1. Cat In The Hat Gala Benefitting Reading Is Fundamental – Join Thing 1 and Thing 2 in raising much-needed funds to provide free books to children and parents in low-income neighborhoods. The Cat will be working his magic this afternoon to transform the Four Seasons into a true charitable extravaganza.

2. The 59th Annual Corcoran Ball & Club Corcoran – Washington socialites, art patrons, and philanthropists flock to the oldest privately supported art museum in the nation to celebrate its history and legacy at the Annual Corcoran Ball. On April 25th, the Corcoran Women’s Committee of the Corcoran Gallery of Art and College of Art and Design will host Washington’s historic 59th Annual Corcoran Ball. One of the most ornately decorated balls in D.C., featuring elaborate floral displays, linens and lighting unique to each individual room in different galleries.
After the party hit the Club? Of course! A new club in D.C.? You could say that. It’s 2014′s most anxiously awaited after party, and this year, Club Corcoran has returned in full force. This year the party will be Chaired by socialite and philanthropist, Ms. Frances Holuba, and highlights will include M.H. & His Orchestra (live entertainment), specialty cocktails prepared by Jeff Faile from Iron Gate, a sampling of wines from The Partisan, brews from Bluejacket Brewery, DJ Neville C. spinning beats. Quite the evening!

3. The Georgetown House Tour -The 83rd Annual Georgetown House Tour is back! The oldest, most prestigious house tour in the country and allows visits to 18th and 19th century historic homes, and a Parish Tea in Blake Hall at St. John’s. The Tour hosts more than 1,600 attendees, and has over 300 volunteers from the community including The Junior League of Washington. Proceeds from The Georgetown House Tour support the ministries of St. John’s.
