If you are perusing the Miss A website, it’s pretty safe to assume that you are generous and that you care a great deal about helping those in need in the most stylish way. That being said, it is also safe to assume that you probably also love glamor and exciting events, so how could you not want to join some of the most iconic stars as they attempt to launch a global effort for good? Larger than life names like Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Richard Branson and Linkin Park are lending their powerful hands to The Urgency Network, a powerful new effort that is trying to bring together celebrities and their fans, non-profits and brands in an online platform to launch a global effort for the betterment of the entire world.
So what is The Urgency Network exactly? The Urgency Network raises awareness for a number of non-profits and other charities and campaigns such as Paul McCartney’s pick, Greenpeace, the global organization dedicated to cleaning the planet and protecting it’s natural balance, Linkin Park’s choice, Music For Relief, a charity of musical artists and their fans dedicated to supporting disaster relief and preventing global warming and Sir Richard Branson’s pick, Carbon War Room, an effort to invest in and promote entrepreneurial solutions which could reduce carbon levels on a massive scale, just to name a few. Sounds pretty awesome, right? But how does it work and how would you be connected to these and more iconic stars?
Simply put, the online platform through which the charity effort runs offers people a chance to win a ‘grand prize’ such as a trip to Japan to see Linkin Park in concert by entering all participants into the drawing when they donate to a cause, view and share awareness videos, volunteering,

participating in mass tweets, inviting others to join or signing petitions. Each time you do any one of these things, you’re name is entered again for the grand prize all while you give back to the global good.

The Urgency Network is a fairly new enterprise, but the mega-stars like Paul McCartney have already chosen their favorite causes and are now part of the launch campaigns. If you would like to participate in what is sure to become one of the largest cyber efforts to making the world a better place all while entering your name for grand prizes like a backstage experience with Sir Paul McCartney at the Outside Lands Festival in Miss A’s city, San Francisco or a meet and greet with Sir Richard Branson in Miss A’s city, New York, please visit The Urgency Network’s homepage  or follow them on Twitter through @UrgencyNetwork and start making a change you want to see in the world.

In 2008, I launched AskMissA.com which grew from my personal blog into a site with 700 writers, covering the intersection of charity & lifestyle in 20 U.S. cities. With Charity + Life, I am going back to a personal blog where I can share my favorite things, and continue to shine a light on nonprofits, and cause marketing campaigns to inspire others to give as they live.
