Founded in 2006, Tigerlily Foundation provides unique, hands-on services and support to these individuals, improving the overall quality of life for young adult breast cancer survivors. Funds benefit the foundation’s six special educational and support programs, offering a range of services such as financial assistance, meals and empowerment to young women in treatment. Founder Maimah Karmo, a breast cancer survivor who was diagnosed at age 32, is determined to use her own experiences fighting the disease to provide resources to other young women. Ms. Karmo named the foundation after a flower that represents beauty, strength and transformation. She has become an activist for her cause and has appeared on several well-known, national television shows including the “Oprah Winfrey Show.”
