National Donate Life Blue and Green Day: Raising Organ Donor Awareness
April 20th is National Donate Life Blue and Green Day, an initiative focused on raising awareness about the gift of tissue and organ donation nation-wide.
Anne Lopez, a kidney transplant survivor and Donate Life Hollywood Ambassador, and many of her celebrity friends including Joe Mantegna (Criminal Minds), Jeff Garlin (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Christopher McDonald (Harry’s Law), Betsy Brandt (Breaking Bad), Eva La Rue (CSI: Miami) are supporters of organ and tissue donation and blue and green day.
All supporters encouraged to wear blue and green clothes, make blue an green recipes, and do what they can to raise awareness of the “20 Million In 2012 Campaign“, which strives to increase the number of registered organ donors this year.
Around the nation, legislators, celebrities, newscasters, corporations, and community residents will be participating and raising awareness for the need of more registered organ, eye and tissue donors.
To get involved, be sure to wear blue and green, cook up some blue or green food, or any other color-coordinated activity you can think of! On April 20th, post pictures on the Donate Life America Facebook page for a chance to win $100. Donate Life America Facebook fans will then vote on the top 30 looks and ten lucky winners will be chosen.
