Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival at Reston Town Center

Share

On Saturday and Sunday, May 21, 2011 and May 22, 2011, art lovers will take to the streets to celebrate the 20th Annual Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival sponsored by the Greater Reston Arts Center (GRACE).  The outdoor juried festival is the largest, top-rated annual art festival in the Washington Metropolitan area.  More than 200 artists will fill the streets of the Reston Town Center showcasing some of the country’s best artwork.  Over two days, nearly 50,000 patrons visit the festival and have a chance to personally see and touch the artwork as well as talk to the artists who created them.

The festival is free to the public, but patrons have the opportunity to make a $10 donation to GRACE in exchange for a $10 gift certificate to a participating restaurant at the Town Center.  Donations will help GRACE further its mission to enrich individual and community life by promoting involvement and excellence in the visual arts.
Children will find plenty of entertainment inside the Children’s Art Tent where they will be able to explore hands-on art projects, make paper bag hats, create wearable jewelry, and make self-portraits.  Children and adults are invited to add their own creative touches to the community art mural and chalk walk outside of the Children’s Art Tent.
To view a map or get more information, visit the festival web site or call 703-501-6289.

In 2008, I launched AskMissA.com which grew from my personal blog into a site with 700 writers, covering the intersection of charity & lifestyle in 20 U.S. cities. With Charity + Life, I am going back to a personal blog where I can share my favorite things, and continue to shine a light on nonprofits, and cause marketing campaigns to inspire others to give as they live.
