The Leukemia Golf Classic Hosted by Redskin Brian Orakpo

On May 9, football and golf collide to bring you the Leukemia Golf Classic hosted by Washington Redskin Brian Orakpo.  Brian will be joined by fellow Redskins Lorenzo Alexander, D’Angelo Hall, London Fletcher and a number of other celebrity golfers and area business leaders.  At 10 am, golfers will begin teeing off at the beautiful Trump National Golf Club in Potomac Falls, Virginia, one of the area’s most prestigious courses with incredible views of the Potomac River.

For $1,500 per individual or $5,000 for a foursome, enjoy a day of golf, fun, and food while raising money to help the National Capital Area Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in its crucial fight against blood cancers.  The event ends with a post-round reception and silent auction at 4 pm, followed by dinner and an awards banquet.  Golfers will also have the opportunity to meet the tournament’s honored patient Brendan Kelly, a two-time leukemia survivor.

In 2008, I launched AskMissA.com which grew from my personal blog into a site with 700 writers, covering the intersection of charity & lifestyle in 20 U.S. cities. With Charity + Life, I am going back to a personal blog where I can share my favorite things, and continue to shine a light on nonprofits, and cause marketing campaigns to inspire others to give as they live.
