Lilly Pulitzer Mother-Daughter Tea to Benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation
The Fairmont Washington D.C. is pleased to announce “Tickled Pink, VIII” the hotel’s eighth annual mother-daughter fashion show and afternoon tea benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of the Mid-Atlantic, Inc. Fashions are provided by the Pink Palm at Bethesda Row. The event takes place on Saturday, May 14, from one until three p.m. in the hotel’s Colonnade Room.
Celebrity and model mother-daughter duos will showcase the latest spring and summer fashions from the Pink Palm a Lilly Pulitzer® Signature Store. CBS Anchor Lesli Foster and daughter Jordon, NPR’s Michele Norris and daughter Aja as well as Fox 5 Anchor Laura Evans and daughters Sienna and Drew; are just some of the celebrity models taking to the Fairmont runway to help support wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions. WTOP Radio’s Man About Town Bob Madigan, will once again serve as the Master of Ceremonies.
The Fairmont’s Executive Chef Jason Dalling, will serve mainstays like watercress, salmon and egg salad sandwiches, and homemade scones with lemon curd and real Devonshire cream, alongside kid-pleasing peanut butter and jam. The sweet tray will be rounded out with everything from herbal tea cookies to berry tartlets and miniature chocolate chip cookies. For an added touch of sparkle, alongside Fairmont’s signature Metropolitan Tea blends, butlers will be passing Kir Royales and Mimosas.
Come dressed for the occasion – prizes will be awarded for the best “vintage Lilly’s” and a silent auction will feature weekends at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston, and The Fairmont Washington, D.C. Guests will receive take-home Lilly goody bags courtesy of Lizanne Jeveret of The Pink Palm at Bethesda Row, and complimentary valet parking will be provided.
Tickets for the Tickled Pink Afternoon Tea are $75 per adult and $25 for children, and 100% of the proceeds go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic, Inc., a nonprofit organization that fulfills the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
