Miss A’s Dutch Roots

Miss A’s Dutch Roots

If you can read Dutch, you may want to check out the news coverage of Washington’s first Pink Slip Party! For those who don’t know, my father was a physician for the Air Force and was stationed in Germany in the late 1960’s. He met my mother while visiting Holland, and after corresponding with lots of letters, and visits to visit my family in a small town outside of Amsterdam, they were married. I was born in Rotterdam, where my father worked after leaving the Air Force. Dutch was my first language, but we moved back to the States when I was 2 years old. I was fortunate to spend 6 – 8 weeks in Holland each summer, so I was able to practice my Dutch, though I speak it with a Southern accent. My large family overseas will enjoy seeing this news story!

Have a great Friday!

– Miss A

In 2008, I launched AskMissA.com which grew from my personal blog into a site with 700 writers, covering the intersection of charity & lifestyle in 20 U.S. cities. With Charity + Life, I am going back to a personal blog where I can share my favorite things, and continue to shine a light on nonprofits, and cause marketing campaigns to inspire others to give as they live.
